After 12pm today, license applicants were notified if they had been selected to continue to the next step of the process to be officially awarded a license to legally operate a recreational marijuana store in Washington State. Although applicants have been chosen, they still must go through a background check before they are officially issued a license. This means those that have been selected will be able to open, stock and sell cannabis, even purchase a medical marijuana vending machine if they wanted to do so.
Apparently, every applicant who wanted to sell medical marijuana was ranked by a number which was found using double-blind method of lottery.
Observing conversations on Twitter, it appears that @CurtisMarsden has some interesting insight into the email.
Marsden also Tweeted some interested observations:
UPDATE: Scott O’Neil of Kouchlock Productions, a medical marijuana dispensary located in Spokane has been one of the applicants selected to receive a Washington State retail marijuana license if all goes with the rest of the process.
Update: Several clients of Hilary Bricken, a cannabis lawyer, has been selected to continue the retail marijuana process. Special thanks to @stateofthegreen and @I502implement for spreading and sharing news.
Update: Hillary Bricken has now reported that 8 of her clients won the recreational marijuana license lottery in their respective counties and cities. Also, Greenside Medical, out of Des Moines, has also been selected.
