Imagine a law against walking into a convenient store, legally purchasing a case of beer, and then sharing one of the beers with a friend (who is 21 years of age or older) in the privacy of your living room. Or, imagine if there was a law against buying a couple of cigars and gifting one to a friend who is old enough to smoke.
Apparently, in Washington State, it is against the law to legally purchase marijuana at a state licensed retail shop and then share your purchase with a friend 21 years of age or older. This is considered illegal “distribution.”
Can you imagine how big of an ‘asshole’ you would be if you and a friend were chilling on your couch, and you denied sharing any weed while watching the latest episode of South Park?
