Marijuana Review: Six Shooter by Solstice

April 4, 2016 By Fischer Campbell Leave a Comment

It’s getting silly at this point; Solstice is my new favorite producer, so yes – it’s another Solstice review.  We’ve covered Alaskan Thunder Fuck, Skunkberry, (also purchased a myriad of other “off the record” strains) but this week I bring you Six Shooter.

My usual stop for Solstice flower is Stash in Ballard, which is where I got 3.5 grams of Six Shooter ($35.75).  I’ve mentioned this in past reviews, but that is a price I’m willing to pay.  Growing up, spending $50-$60 on an eighth was normal.  The recreational market is a wonderful thing, and seeing new strains crop up week after week is invigorating.

Sometimes you’ve got to take a moment, and remember how lucky we are.  Not only can we purchase affordable marijuana through a legitimate source, but on top of that we can enjoy it legally.  After living so many years in hiding and persecuted by the law, it’s one of the best feelings ever to sit on my stoop and enjoy a craft Washington marijuana strain alongside a craft Washington beer (I’m a man of simple pleasures).  Yeah, there are still some kinks to be ironed out – but for now, we’ve won a little bit, and it feels superb.

Let’s talk Specifics:

THC: 20.6%
CBD: 0.2%
Total: 23.1%

Strain: Six Shooter
Species: Hybrid (Sativa dominant)
Harvested(?)*: 11/22/15
Smell: Lemon + Cherries + Dirt
Taste: Sweet + Sour + Hay
Launch Point: Get high upon exhale.
High: Elated + Floaty + Body Vibe + Heightened Senses + Spaced Out
*This was an non-specified date on the package which we assumed was the harvested date.

Pinched with purple, Six Shooter is pretty.  All crystalized and crisp, I would have like to seen some larger buds but c’est la vie.  Still fills a good bowl, still burns well.  The wee nugs, they sometimes pack an unexpected punch.

In terms of smell, there are definite fruity notes.  One could say lemon, perhaps cherry; all would say stank.  It may be just me, but there was a deep earthy dirt aroma as well.  The taste was sweet, rightfully along with some sour hints.

Getting high with Six Shooter is, in a word, decimating.  Picture yourself as a ball, and someone throws the ball into the air as hard as they can (this happens upon you exhaling).  Some day that ball is going to crash into the earth, but for now you are a majestic, jovial being – soaring through the sky.

The strain feels more cerebral then the numbers read.  There is a definitely a distinctive body vibe that comes along with the head high, but overall I find this strain a little incapacitating for certain daily contexts.  Sure – if that’s the idea, then it’s perfect.  But for the most part, Six Shooter is best enjoyed without any responsibilities in tow.

Burnout is present, expect some tired feelings after the high fades.  Combat them as you would.  This strain is best enjoyed in small amounts, and I’d recommend night time use.

You can find Solstice products at Stash Pot Shop (Ballard), Have a Heart (Fremont), and the Novel Tree (Bellevue) – along with many more locations I’m sure.  Solstice has a product finder function on their website, but it doesn’t seem to be that up to date.  Until next time.
