More than just marijuana: all the little things

April 28, 2015 By Manic Conrad

We realize we are part of something special. The ‘special’ being the recreational marijuana industry.

The reason why this industry exists is because of cannabis. Without it, there is no industry. But, this industry is more than just marijuana. It’s special.

To be honest, I have not been part of a cooler industry. Seriously. Every person that we have met, whether he or she is an owner of a recreational marijuana store, a producer or head grower of cannabis, or a customer standing in line at a shop, has been really super cool. And it’s more common these days to meet them due to so many states legalising the stuff completely! Even if they aren’t full accepting of it, you can still access a cannabis card in states like Virginia to show you have been prescribed it and this is easy to get on sites like this one https://www.cannabisrxhealth.com/medical-cannabis-card/virginia!

And anyway, before the marijuana industry, did you ever meet a stoner wearing a tie-dye shirt that was a complete asshole? Or anyone who had an invested interest in the plant? I wouldn’t know, I have never met one. I’m sure they exist, but I imagine they are far and few between.

The point is, marijuana has always been about enlightenment, knowledge, love and bringing everyone together. The late great Bob Marley beautifully summed it up in two words: ‘One Love.’

While the marijuana plant makes this industry go around and brings us together, it’s the little things, the freebies inspired by creativity and inspiration that is icing on the cake. Hey, I love craft beer just as much as the next Joe, but when the last time you purchased a bottle or 6-pack and received a mix cd or a trading card in return? I like the craft beer industry and think its great, but that example just solidifies for myself that we have something special here.

Goodship post card and sticker

We have seen these Goodship Co. stickers and a beautifully designed postcard laying around in several recreational marijuana stores.

Buddy Boy Farm trading cards

What a great and fun idea! We scored these Buddy Boy Farm trading cards for free at Ganja Goddess. The back of these cards have a detailed description about the strain of cannabis.

Mirth Provisions bottle cap Uncle Ike's match box

Uncle Ike’s has been known to give away free lighters and boxes of heavy duty matches with their iconic branding. Oh, and if you spend over $100 at their pot shop, you get a free t-shirt.

The Mirth Provisions bottle cap is not free, but it’s free to keep if you purchase their sparkling beverage! We just included it because sometimes the thing that makes us smile is written with words such as: ‘Legal until further notice.’

Rain City Cannabis mix CD

If you visit Rain City Cannabis, you may be lucky enough to walk away with a mix cd. One of their budtenders has two tracks on this mix.
