Not All Marijuana Professionals Are Weed experts, and It’s Better That Way

Not only do some marijuana professionals in the industry NOT consume cannabis, but some aren’t even considered experts when it comes to the popular herb. And guess what? It’s okay!

While there are some factions of the industry that’s best left to ones who are very knowledgeable with marijuana such as growers, there are some areas where it’s best that they are just good at what they do. Case in point, Apache 6, who provide security consultation for the recreational marijuana industry.

Not only does the ‘Team Leader’ admit he is no expert when it comes to marijuana on a recent blog post, the entire team claims to not smoke pot. But, they do support the industry and are placing their focus where their expertise is.

Can you imagine a security team led by the cast of the favorite stoner movie Dazed & Confused? Neither can we and are happy this group of professionals take their job seriously.

Check out their recent blog posts on their site to understand their thoughts and concerns about the local marijuana industry.

Mirth Provisions’ Legal Beverages Delayed a Week

The suspense is killing us! Especially since we were hoping these cannabis infused beverages would be available to sip on under the hot August sun! Now that the weather has turned a little cooler, our dream is disappearing. But – not to fret – the weather is suppose to heat up during the next week so we hold onto hope!

A news article from The Columbian explains the reason why these marijuana beverages were delayed a week. Apparently, bottle caps were popping off and that wasn’t because customers were popping them off, it was the carbonation in the drink because they were supplied the wrong bottles.

As soon as the supplier sends the correct bottles, we should start seeing these weed drinkables on the shelves of Washington State recreational marijuana shops.

Weed Bus Keeps On Smoking

You didn’t think they would just park the bus, did you?

While the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission made it clear that smoking pot on transportation governed by them would not be tolerated, the Weed Bus decided to turn into a private organization. Apparently the Weed Bus is no longer governed by the commission and has continued its’ operations according to a recent Craigslist Ad.

Operator William Prigmore declared via his personal Facebook page: “Just to set the record straight the Weedbus.club is not shut down and never will be until I die.”

Mirth Provisions (Adam Stites CEO) Legal Brand Cannabis Infused Sodas and Cold Brews Coming This Summer

Mirth Provisions (Adam Stites CEO) Legal Brand Cannabis Infused Sodas and Cold Brews Coming This Summer

UPDATE: Mirth Provisions Legal sparkling tonics are now available. In fact, you can read our marijuana review of the Mirth Provisions Rainier Cherry Sparkling drink.

I really do live in one of the best cities in the world. But I swear, this summer cannot come soon enough! Not only is our State going to officially launch the recreational cannabis industry, but a brand new company plans to enter the market with cannabis infused sodas and cold brews; and plans to stock the shelves of retail marijuana shops in Seattle and throughout the state.

Can you imagine sitting on a balcony, watching the blistering July sunset, sipping on a Lemon Ginger cannabis infused soda? Or having a swig of the Rainier Cherry flavored soda before checking out the Capitol Hill Block Party or Bumbershoot? Or replacing a bottle of wine in the picnic basket with a sparkling Pomegranate soda, which has just enough THC to lift your mind and give you body a little buzz?

Legal cannabis infused sodas and cold brews by Myrth Provisions

Mirth Provisions, based out of Longview, Wa, has just engineered three tasty cannabis infused sodas for your thirst quenching pleasure, and two cold brews to wake you up. The brand name is: “Legal.”

I spoke briefly with Adam Stites, CEO, and he seemed very upbeat about the launch of this unique beverage. According to Stites, his company explored many different types of cannabis infused edibles on the market, such as the west wendover edibles, before they decided to create a beverage. They believed a beverage should be ‘socially more comfortable,’ especially with first time consumers of cannabis.

Stites claims that only real juice is used in the sodas and none of it is from concentrates. For example, the Rainier Cherry flavored soda (aka Liquid Joy) uses local Washington State cherries, the Lemon Ginger (aka Dream Tonic) uses fresh lemons, and the Pomegranate (aka Power Tonic) uses real pomegranate juice.

As mentioned before, there are two types of cold brew. One contains cream and sugar and the other is geared toward coffee drinkers who like their coffee plain, or drinkers who have dietary concerns. Not only do the brews contain cold-pressed coffee, but they also contain 20 mg of THC which has twice as much as the cannabis infused sodas. This is definitely not the coffee your ma and pa drank!

A design agency who wishes to remain anonymous at this time, is responsible for the distinct and stylish branding, and packaging of the beverages. If the cannabis extracts in the beverage does not put a grin on your face first, maybe the small little design subtleties will; eg., like the slim sticker on the side of the bottle neck that reads: “Legal Until Further Notice,” or like the simplistic Mirth Provisions logo with the cute “walking stoned” squirrel. And imagine all of the advertising and slogan possibilities with a name like “Legal?” It’s an advertisers dream!

Mirth Provisions is currently in the absolute final stages of the recreational marijuana licensing process, and expects to finalize everything in a week or so. If all goes well, and Stites seems fairly confident it’s just a matter of formality, then the company will receive a producer/processor license.

If this summer is hot like last year, we won’t need to worry about cooling down. Thanks to Legal, our selection of refreshments is bigger and better than ever!
