Marijuana Review: Fruit Punch by Bangs Cannabis Company

March 5, 2015 By Fischer Campbell

Bangs Cannabis Fruit Punch

For this weeks review, High Above Seattle got an exclusive sample of Fruit Punch from Bang’s Cannabis Company.

Bang’s Cannabis Co. is based out of Cheney, Washington – High Above Seattle has actually written about them before (here, and here).  The company was started by a married couple, Patrick and Lacey Bang, and ever since marijuana (in Washington) has been legalized this duo has been following their passion in marijuana cultivation and distribution.

Bangs Cannabis Fruit Punch

One specific thing that stood out to me about this company was their focus on sustainability; notably using all organic soil and nutrients.  According to their website (www.bangscannabisco.com), Bang’s is looking into attaining windmills to completely replace electrical costs and usage when growing marijuana.

Looking at the packaging, Bang’s continues their focus on sustainability by using glass jars instead of plastic bags.  Each glass jar is adorned with a sticker providing information regarding the strain inside.

Lets take a look at the specifics:

Indica Hybrid

23.8% THC

Bangs Cannabis Fruit Punch

Fruit Punch buds look lovely, showing off shades of green and purple.  The nugs are nicely trimmed, and the marijuana itself has been cured to the point where you can break it up by hand.  As much as I love using a grinder, sometimes it’s just nice to crumble up some herb with your fingers.

According to the Bang’s themselves – your fingers will be left with tangy, sweet and syrupy smell and a smoke that lives up to it’s name.

The smell of this strain is sweet and funky, it’s heavy on the fruitiness (as the name suggests).  Every once and a while you get a strain that is named so appropriately, and truly Fruit Punch packs a… well… it packs a punch (cue the Kool-Aid man bursting through the wall).

Bangs Cannabis Fruit Punch

This author sampled Fruit Punch out of both a water pipe and a vaporizer.  The water pipe yielded a rich cherry-like flavor, whilst the vaporizer had a more of a berry-lemon taste.  Smoking the strain and eating some pie would be a winning combination.

After testing out Fruit Punch, we walked around Fremont (dammit why didn’t we go to that Pie place?!), got some lunch, and beer.  It was a great “doing stuff’ kind of high – the sun was shining and there were sea planes landing in Lake Union.

As soon as we got home, the couch lock hit – and I was super tired.  A good strain will hit you hard, but it may leave you tired as well (luckily there are caffeinated beverages to help with such things).

Various strains from Bangs Cannabis Company are available throughout stores in the Seattle area, and we’d highly recommend you give one a try!  This company creates some potent marijuana, with a bang.

Farm of the Month (October 2014): Bang’s Cannabis Company

November 4, 2014 By Manic Conrad

Bang's Cannabis Company Marijuana Farm /Producer of the Month

FOTM-reward

This marijuana producer from Cheney, Wa., led by married couple Patrick and Lacey Bang, seemingly came out of nowhere and sparked our interest with some post prohibition branding. Since then they took a road trip to Seattle to spread the word about their product and brand, hired a quick-learning employee who learned to roll a crazy amount of joints his first day, was paid a visit by the cops on four separate occasions because they could smell the farm from a mile away.

Even from afar, the energy of this grower tandem is contagious. They have a very active presence on social media where they keep everyone up to date on their progress and show off close-up photography of their plants as well as their farm. The photos are special because they allow a glimpse into their lives and it’s obvious to see they are living their dream.

Now if only their cannabis, uniquely packaged in glass jars, can make it into the recreational shops in Seattle – sooner rather than later!

Church’s Anti-Pot Shop Efforts Backfiring

While the intention’s of Mount Calvary Christian Center’s protests and lawsuit is to shut down next door pot shop, it has brought Uncle Ike’s lot’s of publicity and support. Just check out the articles on CapitolHillSeattle.com and glance over the comment section to get an idea. Or check out this tweet we found on twitter:

That lawsuit reminded me I wanted to visit Uncle Ike’s. http://t.co/wmFJe58a6f Never even tried pot until it was legal in WA.

Marijuana Can Be Smelled a Mile Away

If you are a Washington State licensed marijuana grower and have enough plants in a greenhouse, apparently the smell of your farm can carry a mile away. Bang’s Cannabis Company has been visited by the ‘aroma police’ on four separate occasions. They were told that the scent of their marijuana farm can be picked up from a mile away. Does that mean an animal such as a bear can smell the cannabis plants from 10 miles away?

Who To Follow? Top Active Seattle Marijuana Businesses on Social Media

October 14, 2014 By Manic Conrad

Top Seattle Marijuana businesses Social Media

If you ‘re a fan of marijuana, a fan of social media, and you live in Seattle, then you may be interested in some of the most active Seattle marijuana businesses on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. These local cannabis businesses do a fantastic job of showcasing their product, keeping us up to date with news, showing the latest advances in seed to sale tracking software, engaging the community, dropping some humor, and even some eye candy. And with the help of companies that provide the service of cannabis public relations services, it makes sense as to why this industry is one that many people have taken a lot of interest in. These companies leveraging the tools of social media may also want to consider marijuana wordpress hosting if they choose to build an online store or a blog. This would probably be extremely useful for upcoming marijuana businesses. Websites allow more people to find the store, encouraging them to purchase your products online. When developing a website, it’s so important to consider your website traffic. Many companies often forget to do this, meaning that their websites stop working when multiple customers are on there at the same time. To try and prevent this, it’s recommended that more companies consider contacting Apica Systems to check that their website will still load efficiently with increased website traffic. This is important to ensure that all customers have a positive experience on your website. As an upcoming marijuana business, it’s probably wise to consider this, especially as more people are likely to visit your website as a result of marketing and social media.

Cannabis City (Twitter / Facebook)

Ever since this retail marijuana store’s grand opening back in July, Cannabis City has been active on Twitter keeping the industry up do date with their product, when the State flag is lowered (which means they are out of marijuana due to limited supply), and whenever someone jams on a marijuana glass pipe!

Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop (Twitter / Facebook)

Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop has barely even opened and is as busy as anyone on social media. Whether it’s updating the cannabis menu, offering deals on certain strains of marijuana, some humor to brighten up your day, or even a video update of the church protest on their Facebook, the Central District pot shop has got it covered.

Leafly (Twitter)

This company is quickly become an icon of legal marijuana throughout the nation. It’s website is filled with information about cannabis strains and reviews by real people. It’s not surprising that their social media presence is as extensive, especially on Twitter, as they are constantly engaging with the community.

Analytical 360 (Twitter / Facebook)

This analysis laboratory is really good at promoting their new clients that walk through their door. Case in point, Craft Elixirs, whom just dropped off a batch of their cannabis-infused syrup last week. Analytical 360 also engages the community with some of the latest news.

Businesses outside of Seattle, but doing business in the City

Bang’s Cannabis Company (Twitter / Instagram)

Good Ol’ Bangs. This husband and wife team of marijuana growers just visited us in the Emerald City. Our guess is, they had some meetings lined up. We haven’t even tried their product yet – actually a lot of people haven’t because they are so new – but if their cannabis is at least half as good as their photos on Instagram, then we’re going to love it because their photos are eye candy to the max.

Avitas Agriculture (Twitter / Facebook)

Here is another marijuana grower that’s dazzling us with photos. See, we like shiny things. But, not only does Avitas show off their product, but they also show off their fresh clean package design for their cannabis.

Apache 6 (Twitter)

This security team, who’s working at Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop, has been all over Twitter. Alerting the community, sharing opinions and expertise about the security aspect of the cannabis industry, and engaging with the community, are a few ways they use social media.

Looking to increase your own follower count before you go and follow lots of new accounts yourself? That’s understandable. With that in mind, you might want to learn about the different Instagram growth services available. These services, offered by companies like Upleap, can help you to develop a strategy for boosting your social traffic and, in particular, your number of real, organic followers. You do have to be careful which services you trust, although with Upleap reviewed by Platypus Reviews, you know that is one that you can trust.

Did we miss any? Do you know of a Seattle marijuana business, or a marijuana business in Seattle, that you think should be on this list? Let us know in the comment section!

Curious Case of the Exploding ‘Legal’ Bottles

Recently delivered bottles of Mirth Provisions, cannabis-infused ‘Legal’ soda beverages, have been removed from Top Shelf in Bellingham and Vancouver’s Main St. Marijuana and New Vansterdam. A high yeast concentration caused bottles to explode. Komo News covered the news here.
