$1,000 To Be the First to Buy Weed? One Lucky Bastard…

September 30, 2014 By Manic Conrad

First Customer staying overnight at Uncle Ike's Pot Shop

“I bet you a $1,000 that you are not the first customer at Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop when it opens for the first time.”

I wish I had a friend like that, one who had a thousand dollars laying around, one who dared me to stay overnight at the grand opening of Seattle’s 2nd recreational marijuana shop so I could obtain some cannabis the next day. And if I win – I get some weed and a $1,000!

According to Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop Facebook page, rumor has it that this lad in the security cam photo, has one of those ‘friends.’

Not only is he looking to cash in on a $1,000 bet and some weed, he even got a free coffee out of it! One. Lucky. Bastard.

Uncle Ike's Pot Shop Menu

Today is the day that Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop opens in the Central District, Capitol Hill Area, of Seattle. Not only does the cities’ 2nd legal retail cannabis store have a good selection of marijuana from Avitas Agriculture and Monkey Grass Farm for its’ first day of business, but according to the menu on the shop’s website, it’s all high in THC!

Although the variety of strains available is fairly good, it is not known if Uncle Ike’s will be able to keep up with demand so you may want to get their early! It’s all happening on the corner of 23rd and Union in the Central District. Check out their website for more info.

Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop: Located in Central District, Next to Capitol Hill

September 29, 2014 By Manic Conrad

Uncle Ike's Pot Shop Capitol Hill Central District Seattle

Seattle finally gets its’ 2nd recreational marijuana shop set to open Tuesday, September 30. The store owned by businessman Ian Eisenberg will be located in Central District and next to heavy populated Capitol Hill. The recreational marijuana outlet will be called Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop. Adjacent to the shop on the same lot will be Uncle Ike’s Glass and Goods. This shop will not carry cannabis, but will sell bongs, pipes, vaporizers, rolling papers, grinders, and other paraphernalia.

Cannabis from Avitas Agriculture & Monkey Grass Farms to be on the the Shelves

According to Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop Facebook page, the first and featured growers to grace the shelves of Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop will be Avitas Agriculture and Monkey Grass Farms. The available cannabis strains from Avitas will include: Snoop’s Dream, Cynex, Black ’84, Lemon Kush, & Pineberry. We covered Avitas Agriculture just last week with their fresh cannabis packaging design.

In addition, their will a nice selection of edibles and RIF cartridges from Green Chief and JuJu joints.

The First of 2 recreational marijuana shops in ‘Tiny Amsterdam?’

The name ‘Little Amsterdam’ was first coined by local site CapitolHillSeattle.com for the area where Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop will do business. This was before the WSLCB published the recreational retail marijuana shop lottery rankings when there were several hopeful entries. Since the published lottery results, only one retail weed shop was given a ranking for a potential license: Mello Times, soon to be located in the area at 1410 24th Ave. With the addition of Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop, the area will now have 2 recreational weed shops. Not exactly a ‘Little Amsterdam,’ but maybe a ‘Tiny Amsterdam?’

Location, Location, Location: Capitol Hill & Central District

The news of Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop opening in Central District is great news for locals who wish to purchase cannabis, especially in the nearby densely populated neighborhood of Capitol Hill. Although, there will be weed connoisseurs coming from all areas around Seattle and outside the city, mainly by car (or how about a group outing via the  locally famous Weed Bus?) the immediate areas of Capitol Hill and Central District offer walkable routes. Of course, for residents of Capitol Hill, it would be most convenient to have a recreational cannabis store off of Broadway or Pike & Pine Corridor, the location of Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop will have to do.

Who is Ian Eisenberg Seattle

Who Is Ian Eisenberg?

According to this site, Ian Eisenberg is a serial entrepreneur. Although his experience expands 15 with founding, developing, and operating technology related adventures, he will be opening the 2nd recreational pot shop in Seattle. This isn’t Mr. Eisenberg’s only venture where the product being sold is considered “natural.” He is also partly responsible for the “all-natural,” zero calorie soda, Zevia.

Check out Mr. Eisenberg’s official website for more about the entrepreneur driven individual.

Uncle Ike's Glass and Goods

How ‘Uncle Ike’s Glass & Goods’ is Brilliant Business

Speaking of Mr. Eisenberg and his portfolio of success, how about the opening of not just Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop, but the grand opening of Uncle Ike’s Glass and Goods as well? In a building on the same lot, close to the pot shop, will be store which sells marijuana paraphernalia such as pipes, bongs, and vaporizers.

We think this is a brilliant business move! While it’s against WSLCB regulation to openly advertise that you are a recreational marijuana retail store on your storefront, why not advertise on your second store that you are a “glass shop.” Any customers who drive by and stop to purchase pot paraphernalia will be tickled to find out that they can purchase cannabis just next door.

For all of those who are worried about loiters or unwanted activity in or around Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop, you can be rest assured that the Apache 6 Security Team will be employed on an everyday basis. This veteran owned security company is quickly becoming an merging force in the Washington State cannabis industry. The leader of this veteran owned security company just wrote a guest article on our site last week.

Did You Know?

The grand opening of Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop comes as a bit of a surprise. We were in touch with Ian Eisenberg before the initial recreational marijuana license lottery rankings were published by the Washington State Liquor Control Board (WSLCB). According to Eisenberg, ‘he wasn’t even close in the rankings’ to receive a potential recreational marijuana license. It looks like Mr. Eisenberg formed a partnership with a lottery winner to fulfill his dream of opening a legal marijuana store.

You Got the Look: Weed Bus Gets a Makeover & More!

August 13, 2014 By Manic Conrad

Seattle Weed Bus Club New Paint Job

UPDATE: Check out a list of Seattle marijuana tours and party busses.

The Weed Bus has had a makeover, just in time for football season. The mascot of the Seattle Seahawks wearing the 12th man jersey and smoking a blunt, now graces the side of the bus in graffiti style. Artist Charms Won can be seen painting the finishing touches on the last photo.

Lately, the Weed Bus has been making appearances around Seattle in the last couple of weeks. These locations include Cannabis City, which is still Seattle’s only legal marijuana shop. Most recently, we captured footage of the crew dropping rhymes and music outside the Capitol Hill Block. If you check out the footage, you will notice that the bus is defiantly not as colorful as it is now.

In addition to the Weed Bus makeover, there is a rumor of an upcoming app: Where’s the Weed Bus? Apparently, you will be able to use the app to locate the Weed Bus and find out of it’s in your neck of the woods, just in case you want to hop on board and have a toke.

Update:

According to Operator, William Prigmore, the staff will be interviewed by King 5 news on Wednesday, August 13th. There seems to be an open call for anyone who wants to join!

Club Raccoons Hands Out Promo Packs at the Summit Block Party

August 11, 2014 By Manic Conrad

Club Raccoons Seattle

The Summit Block Party on Capitol Hill Was in full swing on Saturday and so was the Club of Raccoons who were handing out promo packs to lucky party goers. Unlike many of the merchants at the party, Club Raccoons did not have a booth, but were easily identifiable by the ‘name tag’ like stickers they wore.

The promo packs included a couple of free joints and a couple of cannabis infused ‘gummy bears’ from Cannabee Candy Company.

Club Raccoons Promo Packs

According to Germ, the leader of the pack, the Raccoons wanted to meet and greet the public and have ‘conversations’ with them in regards to the current state of I-502 and a couple of agendas they would like to push including a ‘tax-free’ marijuana industry.

During our conversation, Germ showed a little disappointment in the Winterlife Cooperative delivery service for switching to the medical marijuana industry, when they were in a prime position to make a statement and help push for regulated recreational marijuana delivery in Seattle.
