Video: Showing Off Large Selection of Marijuana at ‘Top Shelf’

September 15, 2014 By Manic Conrad

large selection marijuana at Top Shelf in Bellingham

The friends of Top Shelf in Bellingham have posted a video via their Facebook page (Top Shelf Cannabis Clothing), showing off the impressive selection of cannabis this early in the game. While it is difficult to see some of the labels and identify the growers, we do recognize product from what appears to be  Avitas Agriculture, Verdavanti, and Nine Point Growth Industries.

But, according to their latest post on Sunday, they claimed the recreational marijuana shop has around 30 strains available. WOW.

Check out the video hop into your vehicle and go on a short road trip up North and see the selection in person:

Seahawks and Weed: It’s Everywhere

August 22, 2014 By Manic Conrad

After tonight, we will be more than halfway done with the painfully long NFL preseason. And to celebrate, why not an article about them Seahawks!

Not sure the commissioner is all that excited about marijuana being associated with the NFL, but if it further publicizes the organization and brings in more money, how could he really care?

If you have not noticed, ever since the legalization of marijuana in Washington State, and especially ever since the Stoner Bowl against the Denver Broncos, Seahawks and weed have been everywhere: on t-shirts, stickers and even painted on the side of a bus!

Here are a few photos we dug up for your viewing pleasure…

Does $27 Marijuana Fine Encourage Smoking in Public?

July 14, 2014 By Manic Conrad

smoking marijuana in public Seattle

It doesn’t matter where I go these days in Seattle. Capitol Hill, Downtown, Belltown, or Industrial District. I always end up walking through a cloud of smoke. Not that I mind. In fact, I don’t. I simply enjoy the smell of cannabis in the air. It reminds me of Amsterdam.

Every time I walk through a cloud of smoke, I always think about the question I have been asked many times: Where are people going to smoke in Seattle, without any places to smoke, besides their own home? The only answer I come up with time after time is: ‘outside!’

And why not? After all, there is really no incentive for a person of ‘legal’ age NOT to light up outside.

First of all, smoking marijuana is not allowed at local marijuana retail shops, bars, clubs, etc, and the majority of hotels have shied away from allowing guests to smoke. Unless you own your own house, or live in an ‘relaxed’ apartment complex, there is really no place to smoke indoors.

Secondly, a fine for smoking outside is the same as consuming a beer in public. Most likely, you not see the $27 fine at first, because law enforcement is encouraged to give you a warning. With the amount of people lighting up in public, and as relaxed as the local marijuana laws are, you would be ‘quite unlucky’ if you were one of the few that were handed a fine.

With really no place to smoke your newly purchase weed, a nice sunny day in the city, and a just a ‘slap on the wrist’ even if you do receive a fine; as long as you are being discreet about it, mindful of others, families, and kids, why wouldn’t you light up in public?

Cannabis City Opens, Makes History

July 8, 2014 By Manic Conrad

Cannabis City crowd

UPDATE: You can find Cannabis City listed here with other marijuana stores in Seattle.

With a countdown from 10, the Seattle recreational marijuana retail industry was born, as Cannabis City became the cities’ first marijuana store.  Hundreds upon hundreds of spectators sweated the sun and heat to be a witness to history. A Grandmother who spent the night in a sleeping bag was first in line, and another soon-to-be customer paid $200 to be take the number fifth spot in line.

While Cannabis City was the first Seattle store top sell marijuana, Bellingham’s Top Shelf was the first marijuana store in Washington State to make a sale. Interestingly, a Kansas man – not a resident – was the State’s first customer.

With only a small supply, is it a matter of time before Cannabis City sells out of it’s supply?

Tacoma’s ‘Rainier’ Grand Opening Delayed a Week

July 6, 2014 By Manic Conrad

Tacoma Rainier on Pine weed store

Tacoma’s Rainier on Pine recreational pot shop will now have to wait until next week before their grand opening. According to Apache6, Rainier’s security team, the ‘processors will not have the product ready in time.’

If you made plans to be at the grand opening at 10am on Tuesday, you can change them to the Seattle grand opening of Cannabis City at noon. Just expect a lot more people and no guarantee you will be able to buy any product before they sell out.
